Sponsorship: Damien’s nine peak Scottish challenge in support of British veterans

Descent path

A PaydayUK employee is aiming to climb nine Scottish mountains in one day to raise money for soldiers suffering from mental health conditions developed during their service.

Damien Jones, who works in PaydayUK’s risk department, plans to scale four mountains, including Ben Nevis, and then cycle 65 miles before climbing a further five, including Cairn Gorm.

Every one of the nine is more than 4,000 feet tall and Damien is attempting to achieve all this in under 24 hours.

A message to PaydayUK customers experiencing difficulties with loan repayments due to IT problems at Natwest, Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and Ulster Bank

PaydayUK is aware that NatWest, RBS and Ulster Bank are having difficulty crediting funds to some accounts and this may be causing some PaydayUK customers difficulty in making payments against their loans.

As a fair and responsible lender PaydayUK would like to let you know how it’s handling this situation and what’s going to happen next.

If you have been affected by this problem and are struggling to repay your loan as a result then:

  • PaydayUK will not charge any default charges or fees.
  • PaydayUK will continue to attempt to collect the payment from the account but, because funds are collected via debit card, customers will not be charged for any failed payment attempts made.
  • Providing accounts are cleared by the end of this month PaydayUK will not report any negative information on affected account performance to credit reference bureaux.

As part of its on-going relationship with Dogs for the Disabled, PaydayUK is delighted to announce that a staff barbecue and raffle held this month raised a total of £1,554 which will help the charity continue its life-changing work.

Run as part of the charity’s Big Dogs Breakfast campaign the morning was organised by staff volunteers and raised £777 which was then doubled by PaydayUK.

The money was raised by selling bacon rolls and hot dogs and a staff raffle with some fantastic prizes, including Alton Towers tickets, an iPad 3 and a widescreen TV.

During the morning we were visited by Ann Hanson and her assistance dog Dazzle, who loved being the centre of attention.
